Job Description:

Warner Bros. Discovery is seeking a Data Engineer to join its fast-paced technology team. In this role, you’ll be working on building a modern data technology stack that fuels insights for next-generation digital products and business strategies.

You will help design and optimize data pipelines, improve data models, and work with enterprise data warehouses to support actionable reporting and analytics. If you’re passionate about coding, problem-solving, and shaping digital data strategies in a global organization, this role is a great fit.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Understand enterprise and brand-level reporting requirements to inform data modeling and architecture.
  • Build efficient ETL processes, queries, and data models to support reporting and analytics.
  • Write organized, scalable, and optimized code meeting business requirements.
  • Debug and resolve complex data engineering challenges.
  • Deliver end-to-end JIRA stories aligned with team standards and quality.
  • Collaborate on BI semantic layer models to support business reporting.
  • Participate in QA testing for pipeline and analytical tool changes.
  • Monitor and maintain batch data loads to meet SLA requirements.
  • Provide timely resolution to production issues.
  • Adapt to a team-based environment with flexibility for second shift work.

Key Technical Skills:

SQL, Python, AWS Glue, Teradata, Snowflake, Data Modeling, AWS Services, SQL Query Tuning, Continuous Integration, Automation Tools , Linux/Unix, API Integration, Data Streaming, Snowflake Features.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field.
  • 5–8 years of experience in data engineering.
  • Strong experience with ETL pipelines, MPP databases (Snowflake, Teradata), and AWS services.
  • Proficiency in SQL query optimization and cost management.
  • Hands-on experience with continuous integration and automation tools.
  • Familiarity with supply chain, order management, trade spends, royalties, POS, and cash collections datasets (preferred in media industry context).
  • Ability to work in a Linux/Unix environment.
  • Knowledge of public/private API integrations and data streaming architectures.
  • Excellent problem-solving, debugging, and communication skills.

Preferred:

  • Experience with DBT (data build tool).
  • Public speaking and presentation skills.
